lemon poppyseed loaf with lemon glaze

Citrus season is still going strong, and nothing beats a classic loaf! They are such a reliable go-to, and perfect to pair with a cozy drink on a cold winter day. Lemon is such a bright, zippy flavour, and is always such a joy to use in the kitchen. I will say, that if you don’t own a zester….invest in one! It’s one of those kitchen gadgets that - yes it only has one use - but it is sooooo difficult to make citrus-y things without it! I’ve tried using a peeler and a sharp knife to get the same result….haha. Nope. Just doesn’t work!

heart stamped spiced brown butter sugar cookies

Okay…I feel like I need to give a bit of background info before we jump right into talking about these cookies! This time we’re skipping the caramel, and instead adding in some chai spices. I have two methods that work, one with a tea bag, and the other with a homemade chai spice mix…because I like to keep things simple, but also like options. Ha!

Christmas cookie box // a Christmas baking round-up

For as long as I can remember, my mom has made a bunch of different kinds of Christmas cookies, barks, bars, etc, and packaged them up on plates for gifts! Most people these days don’t really need anything for Christmas, but homemade baking is always appreciated. You can never have too many cookies, right?
