Oregon coast road trip // day 1: Seattle & more

Hello friends!  Are you ready for a new series?  I hope so!

Now, you may remember me mentioning that my sister Jordyn, my dear friend Clara, and I were heading on an epic road trip down to the Oregon coast in May....and we're back!  I'll be sharing photos from our trip, a bit of our itinerary, as well as recommendations over the next couple of weeks, and I hope you'll enjoy it!

We were gone for 5 nights, and traveled down the coast just past Newport, and then came up through Portland, and back through Seattle and then home.  Five and a half days were definitely not enough, and I cant wait to go back!

Day 1!  Clara flew in from Edmonton the night before, and we got a decently early start the next day and headed into the States.  Our first stop?  Trader Joe's of course!  We picked up lots of yummy treats, fruits, veggies, trail mix, and fixings for lunch (we had packed a cooler, tupperware, and a sharp knife to make packing lunches nice and easy!).

The drive down through Washington is stunning.  Forest lined highways, and mountains everywhere.  We hit up Snoqualmie Falls, which was breathtaking, and had a quick lunch there before heading over to Rattlesnake Ridge.  Unfortunately we didn't have time to do the hike (next time!), but the lake itself is gorgeous to explore, and there are the most interesting stumps around the lake that make for beautiful photo ops.

Then we made our way into Seattle!  What a city.  Jordyn and I had actually never been to Seattle (shame on us since we only live 2 hours away!), and it was a lot to try and take in during our limited time.  We walked a lot, and ate even more as we explored the city, and then continued on to Tacoma where we stayed the night.

And of course, here are a few phone photos from the day as well!

P.S.  I'll be sharing all of our favorite places to see, shop, eat, and stay in each city we visited all together in one post at the very end of this series and will link it here!!!
